It’s been another freezing week, snowing pretty much every day.
I started crocheting my spring jumper again, if I’m good I’ll finish it by the end of the month :) And because I don’t already have enough to distract me, my hubby got us TiVo. Oh well, at least it will keep me company while I crochet!
Now that my coat is done & I’ve fixed a dress for a friend that I’ve had for a year :/ I’m going to finish the Anna dress that I started a few months ago & make some baby clothes.
TADA!!! I finally finished & it only took me a month :D
One of my local fabric shops, Stoff & Stil had a sewing competition. The rules of the competition were to make a coat using either fabric or a pattern from Stoff & Stil. Luckily I had some fabric in my stash that was perfect for the idea I had in my head.
I drafted my own pattern & it ended up being a bit 60’s, guess I’ve been watching too much Mad Men ;) I’m really happy with how it turned out, but I did have some problems. I made some small changes to my muslin, but forgot to add it to some parts of the paper pattern & ended up with the neckline being wider than I had planned. But it turned out ok, I just changed the collar slightly.
I chose the red lining because together with the brown velvet it reminded me of a robin, quite fitting for a coat made in winter I thought :)
The buttons I recycled from an old H&M coat, now all I need is a reason to wear it!
It’s been seriously freezing this past week, I have been wrapped up in multiple layers of clothes & have still been cold. We had a little flicker of blue skies on Friday & Saturday, I think it’s been almost a month of just grey clouds :(
I haven’t heard anything about the Swedish Sewing Bee, but it looks like the application date got pushed back a week, so I have another week of feeling nervous waiting to find out if I’m picked to go to the casting or not.
Let’s see what else, oh yes, I bought myself a new Panda mug, hoping this one won’t break & I’ve finished my latest sewing project :D

Another week over & it’s time for life to get back to normal, my hubby goes back to work today, so it’s just me & the baby. I kicked them both out of the house one day & got a whole 6 hours to spend some quality time with my sewing machine :D More on what I was sewing later!
You see that cute panda mug, that was my new years present to myself.
I’m Panda is an expression we use here at home, when I’m tired I get the dark rings around my eyes (I think I always have them, even before the baby). So anyway, somehow we started using “Panda” as an expression, panda, very panda, zombie panda……. I saw the mug & thought Must Have! But it was not meant to be it seems, on it’s second day of being used, it cracked all down the handle side, across the bottom & half way up the other side. All I did was pour in hot water, OK I drink a lot of tea, but not that much, I got my money back at least.
Just your typical grey Sunday afternoon, playing Mahjong.
